Continued Rollout of Red Roses and Petrol
LOS ANGELES — (BUSINESS WIRE) — World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation (formerly OTCBB:WWMO) is pleased to announce that Red Roses and Petrol, the prize-winning feature film starring Golden Globe-nominee Malcolm McDowell, will continue its US theatrical rollout. The film will open in premier venues on September 12 in Boston and on September 19 in Chicago and Denver.
During initial summer runs in the New York and Los Angeles areas, the film was held over in Forest Hills, NY, and Orange County, CA, for the Fourth of July weekend. “Traditionally this is a very difficult summer weekend for any small film to remain in theaters,” stated Paul D. Hancock, President and Chief Executive Officer of the 31-year old, Southern California-based entertainment company. After the US run is complete, Red Roses and Petrol will move onward to London and Dublin.
Based on a successful Irish play by acclaimed writer Joseph O’Connor, and directed by Tamar Simon Hoffs, the darkly comedic drama offers a tour-de-force showcase for McDowell as Enda Doyle, a university librarian, poet, and rascal who is the flawed patriarch of a dysfunctional family struggling to come to terms with his death and with one another. As the family gathers in Dublin for Enda’s wake, Red Roses and Petrol explores the dynamics of familial relationships with sharp humor and surprising turns.
