The Acquistion of the Academy Award submission THE NIGHTINGALE

Management is pleased to announce the acquisition of the award-winning motion picture The Nightingale for US and Canadian theatrical release. The film was China’s official submission for this year 87th Academy Awards, in the category for Best Foreign language film. Directed by Phillipe Muyl and starring China’s A-list actors Xiaoran Li and Han Qin, the film is inspired by Muyl’s highly successful French film The Butterfly. The film marks one of the first co-production between France and China.

World Wide will be releasing The Nightingale at select theaters throughout the US and Canada starting in the fall, including major metropolitan areas. The film has been showcased at more than 30 festivals around the world with Chinese and Asian American organizations throughout the US supporting its release.

DVD of WAYS TO LIVE FOREVER now available

The feature film WAYS TO LIVE FOREVER is now available on DVD, VOD, and digital download in North America, through World Wide's ongoing arrangement with of Kino Lorber in New York. Starring Ben Chaplin, Robbie Kay (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides), Ella Purnell (Maleficent), and Alex Etel (The Water Horse), the DVD release has been highly anticipated by audiences.

Founded in 2009 by prominent industry professionals Donald Krim and Richard Lorber, Kino Lorber combined the resources, staffs and libraries of Lorber Films, Alive Mind and Kino International to become a robust leader in the specialized distribution of independent and specialty film.

DVD and VOD release of THE LOVELY PATIENT

The feature film drama THE LOVELY PATIENT has been released on DVD and VOD on February 17, 2015. The picture follows a young man and aspiring filmmaker taking care of his ailing mother who recently suffered a stroke. After losing his job, he finds work as a driver for a local man who is being treated for breast cancer, and who is determined to get to his daughter's wedding.

A number of breast cancer organizations and groups throughout the US are supporting the film's release and have also expressed interest in special screenings of the film. A portion of the proceeds from screenings and film sales will benefit this and other cancer-related foundations, hospitals, and non-profit organizations.

The John W. Nick Foundation lends support to the film THE LOVELY PATIENT

Management is pleased to announce its partnership with the John W. Nick Foundation in spreading the word about male breast cancer (a disease that is rarely discussed) in conjunction with World Wide's upcoming release of the feature film THE LOVELY PATIENT in early 2015.

Founded in 1996 by John’s daughter, Nancy Nick, who is now the Foundation's president, their motto is “Awareness Leads to Early Detection, which Leads to Screenings which Leads to Saving a Life. Breast Cancer Does Not Discriminate.” A portion of the proceeds from the film will benefit this and other cancer-related foundations, hospitals, and non-profit organizations.

Online streaming arrangement with Vimeo.com

Management will be orchestrating a joint arrangement with online content provider Vimeo.  The website will be making available several World Wide library titles for sale and/or download, including documentaries (Welcome to Eden), features, and television series ("Skin Deep").  The move fits into Vimeo’s current strategy of acquiring original content for sale and/or rent, providing ease of use and high image quality for HD productions.

The move will also facilitate the launch of World Wide’s new website Indiemoviestore, where consumers will have easy access to library titles available on DVD and streaming sources such as Vimeo.

A formal agreement will follow later in the summer.

World Wide has entered into a licensing agreement with Kino Lorber, Inc. in New York, for the feature film APPLAUSE, starring Paprika Steen. The agreement allows Kino Lorber the right to distribute the award-winning Danish film to home video, rental (DVD), pay TV, cable TV, satellite TV, and free TV, hotel/motel viewing, pay-per-view, new media and digital rights (VOD/SVOD).

Acquisition of feature film RUSTY STEEL

World Wide Motion Pictures Corporation has acquired the 2011 Vision P.M. Productions thriller, RUSTY STEEL, for its film library.

Written, directed, and produced by Ion Ionescu, the picture tells the tale of two American brothers that travel to Romania after one inherits an old fishing boat from a recently deceased uncle. However, upon arrival, the duo is plunged into deadly intrigue, as they frantically race to find a sunken fortune in Nazi gold. RUSTY STEEL features an international cast including: Johan Urb, Paul Campbell, Dean Stockwell, Zane Jarcu, Vladimir Gaitan, Irina Bucescu, Iuliana Calinescu, and Constantin Florescu.
